In response to all God has done for us, we follow Christ’s example of serving others. We are a missions-minded congregation with a variety of outreach and service opportunities for all levels of involvement in the community, the country, and the world, as listed below.

Local Outreach Ministries

Cub Scouts

Cooper Methodist Church is the sponsor for a local Cub Scout troop open to 5 - 10 year-olds in the community. It meets at the church at 6:00 pm every Thursday.

Delta Hope House

The Delta Hope House, a food pantry at 440 SW 3rd street in Cooper, is run by community volunteers, including members of the Cooper Methodist Church. Groceries for the pantry are provided by the North Texas Food Bank and local donations.

Service hours are 8:30 am - 11:30 am on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays of each month. Qualified persons are allowed to pick up groceries once each month.

Families who desire service must first be qualified at the Hope House on any given Thursday morning by bringing (1) proof of residence in Delta County (client/head of household name and address must be on the current electric bill), (2) the name, Social Security number,and birth date for each member of the household receiving food, and (3) wage/income verification of all working people living in each household.

Rental/Utility Assistance

As the Salvation Army representative for Cooper, Cooper Methodist Church in Cooper has funds available to provide limited rent and utility assistance to qualified households. Individuals seeking assistance must provide (1) eviction notice or utility termination bill, (2) lease agreement or monthly bill, (3) proof of income for current and past month, (4) valid picture ID and SS cards for everyone in the household, (5) proof of all monthly financial responsibilities, (6) verifiable documentation showing a crisis or emergency, and (7) verifiable documentation that they will be able to resume payment of their rent or utility bill in a reasonable amount of time.

Wednesday Night Bible Study/Prayer Ministry

Meets Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall and is open to everyone in the community.
